The Beginnings of a Small Whole-Cloth Art Quilt

I’ve been working on a new technique…well, new to me. I took a photograph and blew up a portion of the photograph that had a design I found interesting. Next, I made a pencil drawing of the design onto paper using a light box. From there, I drew the same design onto a piece of white fabric. I used textile paints to color the design. My next step, now, is to incorporate some thread sketching into the design. I have to run out to get some stabilizer before I can do that. I'm planning on making a small whole-cloth art quilt out of it. It will give me a chance to use the facing technique I learned in my Kathy Loomis class.

Here is what I have so far. Comments? Suggestions?
